The challenge
Birch needed a native iOS app on top of its Shopify storefront, and it needed it fast to meet a launch window.
Two months of product backlog had piled up across web and data, with no in-house team free to work through it.
02
Our approach
We embedded with the team, worked from their tracker and agreed a launch-critical scope on day one.
Built the app with Expo and React Native so one codebase could ship to iOS now and Android later.
Triaged the backlog in the first two days, then shipped against it in short, reviewed increments with daily updates.

What we built
- iOS app built with Expo and React Native on a Shopify storefront
- Product browsing, cart and checkout flows backed by the Shopify Storefront API
- Web platform features and fixes from the backlog
- Data platform pipelines and reporting for the team
04
Results
- iOS app shipped in 7 days
- Two months of backlog picked up in 2 days and finished in 15
- Ongoing ownership of web, mobile and data work after launch

“Chiron picked up work we'd been sitting on for months and had it moving within days. The app shipped faster than we thought was possible.”
